Itinerary

Day 1ARRIVAL - ORIENTATION

                      

  • Airport pickup by a team to carefully handle all luggage to be packed in the bus

 

  • Check in to the hotel

 

 

  • Orientation at the hotel conference room or restaurant whiles we have dinner
  • Documents inspection of Passport ( multiple entry visas) , yellow fever , other shots ,

 

  • Change of currencies

 

 

  • Dress makers on standby to measure interested participants ( there will be either a showcased fabrics by the hotel or we purchase some fabrics during our city tour next day from woodin fabric stores)

 

  • Evening hangout in the hotel by the pool or beach front. ( depending on the hotel we choose)

 

Day 2ACCRA CITY TOUR & WELCOME DINNER

                                  

  • Depart the hotel @ 10, our first point of call will be the Dubois Centre for a Pan-African lecture and tour of his private residence

 

  • Drive through some principal street of Accra to the national Museum

 

 

  • A drive tour of original Accra township referred to as James Town to Nkrumah Memorial Museum where our first president and wife were buried respectfully, get access to learn to learn about his ideologies and materials used by him when he became Ghana’s first president

 

  • Visit the crafts and arts Market for shopping

 

 

  • Late Lunch at afrikiko gardens or recommended hotel

 

  • Back to the hotel to rest for while in preparation for the evenings welcome dinner

 

  • Depart the hotel at 8pm for our night out dinner depending on the day this fall on

 

 

  • Back to the hotel late around 12am

 

Day 3Eastern Enclave

  • Early morning departure from the hotel with packed breakfast

 

  • A farm to factory tour of a chocolate industry. This experience is a game changer, giving you a guided tour through a real cocoa farm, and a factory where you get to make your own chocolate at the end. Participant also goes home some bars of chocolate

 

 

  • Leave for lunch at Peduasi lodge which houses a mini zoo of various animal species or recommended restaurant

 

  • A tour of the Aburi Botenical Gardens – need to elaborate……………………………

 

  • We lodge at same hotel

Day 4LAKE CRUISE

  • Depart the hotel after breakfast, our first point of call will be cedi beads center. ( cedi beads is a Ghanaian-born jewelry brand founded  by Nomada Djaba, also known as Cedi, he specializes in creating beautiful, handcrafted jewelry that celebrates African culture and heritage)

 

 

  • Continue to have lunch at one of the magnificent restaurant / hotel – BRIDGE VIEW (Arriving at bridge view is like discovering a dreamy escape. Delicately  hemmed  in by the verdant Akosombo Mountains and surrounded  by the expanse of one of the largest man-made lake in the world)

 

  • We cruise on this lake for close to an hour before checking in to our hotel

 

 

  • Dinner at the hotel

Day 5Monkey Sanctuary and Mounatin hikes

  • Depart the hotel after breakfast to the heart of the volta Region.
  • Have lunch and visit Tafi Atomey Monkey Sanctuary – a traditional sacred grove conservation established in 1993 under the direction of a Peace Corps Volunteer as a community-based ecotourism project. It’s a home to Mona and Patas monkeys

 

  • Continue to visit the Wli Waterfalls – the highest waterfall in West Africa located in Ghana, fall known locally as Agoomatsa waterfalls meaning “ Alllow me to Flow”

 

 

  • Head back to the capital of Volta Ho – a city that lies between to most famous mountains, ADAKLU ( Ghana) and ATAKORA (Togo) mountains

 

  • Check into our hotel

 

 

  • Dinner at the hotel

Day 6Entry to TOGO

  • Depart after breakfast and get to the border of Ghana / Togo around noon

 

  • Drive through volta enclave to the sogakope bridge and get to the togo border

 

 

  • Go through all border formalities with our residence coordinator

 

  • Cross the border to the capital of togo. Lome –

 

 

  • Have lunch and tour of this city continues

Day 7TOGO CITY TOUR

  1. Palaise Du Lome – former colonial seat which was handed over to the administration of togo authorities and after a brief destabilization of the city now converted into a world class museum

 

  1. Fetish Market – located at Akodessawa is the world’s largest Vodoo market which features skulls of different animal’s species and others.

 

 

  1. Drive tour of the city to some important monuments in relation to this City’s Brand eg UNIVERSITIES, TRADE CENTERS etc
  2. Check in to our hotel
  3. Dinner at the hotel

 

 

Day 8ENROOT NORTHERN BENIN ABOMEY (BORDER FORMALITIES)

  • Check out of the hotel very early in the morning with packed breakfast on board

 

  • Our journey to the border will take an hour and few minutes

 

 

  • Drive pass Togo’s industrial city and fishing port

 

  • A brief stop at Aneho to get some history about the existence of togo which includes couple of European relic history

 

 

  • Spend some few minutes at the Estuary ( where one of the biggest lakes in Togo meet the Gulf of Guinea or the Atlantic Ocean)

 

  • There is a lot to see and learn on this stretch before getting to the border

 

 

  • Border formalities will take about an hour

 

  • Embark on a 4 hour journey to the northern part of Benin through Benin’s lettuce growing communities

 

 

  • A brief stop at GRANDPOPO have Pre Lunch or Midmorning Meal

Day 9BENIN SOUTHERN TOURS (GANVIE & PORTNOVO)

  • Check out after breakfast around 8am to embark on another 4 hour journey downsouth of benin via KING GBEHANZIN statue called GOHO. He was the eleventh Kind of the Dahomey kingdom, modern day Republic of Benin. He changed his name Kondo when he ascended the throne in 1890 and ruled until 1894. Defeated by the French in the Second Franco Dahomean War and Exiled to Martinique and died in Algiers

 

  • Brief stop to have a local eatery experience and continue to GANVIE – A lake Village in Benin, lying in the lake Nokoue near Cotonou the Business capital of Benin with a population of about 20,000 people. It considered the  largest lake village in Africa and is very poular with tourist

 

 

  • After Two and half hour experience here we then move for a brief tour of PORT- NOVO – the historical / Colonial Relic city of Benin which serves as the Administrative capital now

 

  • Depart back to Cotonou for overnight

 

 

  • Dinner at the hotel or recommended Restaurant close by

 

Day 10HALF DAY REST & QUIDAH / SACRED FOREST AND SLAVE ROOT TOURS

  • Half day rest at the hotel

 

  • Depart for QUIDAH ( a Southern City in Benin and known for its role in the 17th to 19th century Atlantic Slave Trade) a visit to this historical site along the Gulf Of Guinea will be ideal including the only standing fort situated within this enclave after lunch

 

 

  • Visit the Python Temple. A site for Historical and modern symbolism and spiritual practices in Quidah. The snakes are major totem for followers of Vodun. Dozens of Snakes are housed and worshipped within the walls of the this Vodun Temple

 

  • Last point of call will be the Sacred. This semi wild woodland is dedicated to king Kpasse, the 16th century ruler of Whyday that once encompassed the area of modern-day Quidah

 

  • Spend the night out at beach front for dinner before checking in to our hotel

Day 11ARRIVAL IN GHANA (TWO BORDER FORMALITIES)

  • Depart for Ghana after breakfast on a 10 hour drive which include
  1. Border pass of Benin and Togo
  2. Lunch at Togo
  3. Washroom stops
  4. Get to ACCRA ( hotel destination ) between 5 to 6 pm
